San Germano dei Berici

A family winery

The Ca' Bruzzo family vineyard is located in the Vicenza Province of northeastern Italy, nestled in between the ancient towns of Venice and Verona, in the beautiful Colli Berici Hills. Seven  varieties of grapes are grown on these lush hillside vineyards, making a range of top quality, low yield, naturally produced barrique aged wines. The Bruzzo family personally carry out all aspects of winemaking, as they have for decades.

The character of our wines is created in the fields where each vine is hand trimmed by winemaker Alan Bruzzo, lending his personal vision to the development of the fruit. This is the core philosophy of the Ca' Bruzzo vineyard tradition. The personal tending of the the vines, along with the particular "terroir", give these wines their unique character.

The yields are purposefully kept very low each year, and eco-compatible farming methods are used throughout the vineyards.

The local microclimate provides an ideal setting to cultivate deep-rooted old vines. Accordingly, no irrigation is used; and as a result the roots are forced to grow deep to find moisture, adding to the complex character of the wine.

The Berici Hills are part of the pre-alps at the edge of the Po plain where ascending currents create windy conditions, maintaining the leaves dry and the grapes healthy.

CA’ BRUZZO Full Immersion Wine Tastings

The Ca’ Bruzzo Family Vineyards offers you the ideal location for your special event, and includes our Full Immersion Wine tasting/ Food pairings, which include a walk through the vineyard with the winemaker, who explains the eco-compatible farming techniques, trimming styles, geological traits of the soil, historical context of winemaking in the Colli Berici, which date back over 4000 years, at least to the bronze age.

Wine sommelier tasting methods are then divulged, and wines are tasted through various stages of their development, from young wines, to aging wines directly from the barrique, where the barrel aging philosophies implemented at the winery are discussed in detail. And finally on to the mature and Riserva wines from the bottle, perfectly paired with Sabrina’s delicacies.

The Ca’ Bruzzo Full Immersion Tastings add a real cultural cornerstone to any gathering, and serves as a catalyzer for rich conversation, creating beautiful and lasting memories with friends and family, in the heart of Italy.

The Vineyard

The Vineyard

The Vines

Over one-hundred year old vines situated within lush hillside vineyards. Covering 22.5 acres (9.11 Hectars), 12.35 (5 Hectares), yielding five varieties of grapes: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Chardonnay and Tocai Rosso (local Italian grape related to Grenache and Cannonao). These grapes have been cultivated using eco-compatible farming methods since 1977: No pesticides, chemical fertilizers or herbicides. No irrigation is used, forcing the roots to grow deep to find moisture, adding to the character of the wine. Ca' Bruzzo organic wines have been featured in Wine Spectator and the vineyard/winery recently appeared on the Europass Show: "Italian Fine Wines and Food".

The Cantina

Newly constructed expansive cantina, used for barrel storage, wine tastings, live music events and large-scale dinners, the Ca' Bruzzo cantina has quickly evolved into one of the Veneto's most sought after event venues

Complete with all necessary facilities to host large groups, this temperature controlled space with vaulted ceilings and stylish decor is a magical place to celebrate major milestones with friends, family and work colleagues. Come taste your favorite wines amongst the very barrels that age our complex varietals.
